Common Senses Festival has announced their 2025 lineup, with the world premiere of Paola Prestini's opera, Sensorium Ex, as its centerpiece. The libretto is by Brenda Shaughnessy, directed by Jerron Herman & Jay Scheib; and showcases the AI-driven Augmented and Alternative Communication (AAC) App, Sensorium AI, developed by VisionIntoArt and Luke DuBois at the NYU Ability Project.
Common Senses Festival is aimed at disability acceptance, and to fill Omaha, Nebraska, with performances, art, discussions, and coalition-building opportunties. The festival will take place in May of 2025. The world premiere performances of Sensorium Ex will take place May 22-25, 2025. On May 15th, the festival will screen Paul Lieber’s The Making of Sensorium Ex at Film Streams. A panel discussion with Paola Prestini, Brenda Shaughnessy, and the opera’s creative team will follow.
