Postponement Galore

Like everyone fortunate enough to have work, my Spring and Summer and Fall was cancelled due to the momentous shifts in the industry. I feel lucky that many of these works have found future homes.

Among them:

Aging Magician (choral opera)  postponed to March 26-27 2021 with San Diego Opera

The Red Book for the Thalea Quartet to be premiered at Caramoor, postponed to Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 3pm.

Edward Tulane (grand opera) postponed to 2021-22 season with Minnesota Opera (tba)

Let Me See the Sun (piano concerto) with Lara Downes postponed to summer 2021 at Oregon Bach Festival, Cabrillo Festival, and Ravinia (tba)

Bang on Can Loud Weekend at Mass Moca with Jeffrey Zeigler postponed to summer 2021

Still in development is my new piano concerto Stillpoint (inspired by T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets) for Awadagin Pratt and A Far Cry; Sensorium Ex, a new opera and multi-platform work with Brenda Shaughnessy developed and commissioned by Beth Morrison Projects and The Atlanta Opera in conjunction with Enact Lab, impact producers in Copenhagen, Denmark; and two albums to premiere this Fall and Winter, Cantos, for cello and poetry with Jeffrey Zeigler; and Con Alma, a work inspired by the painter Remedios Vara, for jazz virtuoso Magos Herrera recorded with choirs in confinement, featuring the Amsterdam based female vocal group Sjaella, and the Young People's Chorus of NYC.
